Escape to the stunning Berkshires this May for a peaceful and inspiring knitting retreat, brought to you by a special collaboration between Carmen of A Yarn Story and Amanda of Prado de Lana. With renowned designer Norah Gaughan as your guide, this retreat promises a weekend of creativity, relaxation, and a true connection to the fibres that bring your craft to life.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Berkshires, this retreat offers a perfect balance of expert-led learning and immersive experiences. Over the weekend, Norah will lead two hands-on knitting classes, tailored to all skill levels. Whether you're looking to refine your technique or explore new design ideas, Norah's classes will ignite your passion for knitting and leave you with invaluable knowledge and inspiration.
One of the retreat’s highlights is a morning spent with shepherdess Amanda, where you’ll have the rare opportunity to assist her in tending to her flock of sheep. This immersive experience will deepen your understanding of the wool-to-yarn process, as you learn about the care of the animals and the production of the fibres that are the foundation of your craft.
All meals are thoughtfully provided, showcasing delicious, locally-sourced ingredients to nourish and energise you throughout the weekend. Plus, every guest will receive a carefully curated goodie bag, filled with treats and knitting essentials to take home.
This retreat is a wonderful opportunity to unplug, unwind, and connect with fellow crafters in a beautiful setting, all while enjoying the expertise of Norah Gaughan, and the welcoming, knowledgeable hosts, Carmen and Amanda. Join us for a weekend that promises not just new skills and memories, but also a chance to slow down and enjoy the simple joys of knitting, nature, and community.
